I produced a number of circus shows and venues for festivals. Work included programming, production and on-site management of circus experiences for high calibre and technical shows, whilst dealing with the challenges of an outdoor environment. Clients included major Uk festivals such as Bestival, Big Chill and Boomtown.
Since 2012 I have also carried out annual production of the Circus & Cabaret big top for Chelmsford City Council, designing and managing fast paced shows which saw over 30 entertainment changes in a day. Planning included health and safety, stage management, technical production and artist logistics.
Between 2004 and 2012 I curated and produced the circus cabaret brand Hoochie Coochie. As one of the first new cabaret events to hit the country, its humble beginnings were underground night time happenings in smokey members clubs. Over time the events grew into opulent large scale productions high octane circus and top calibre cabaret.
The shows buzzed with a carnival atmosphere, providing a fantastical experience which took guests into another realm for the night. The result was an abundance of sell out events which drew audiences from across the UK.
Artistic concepts and forward thinking programming earned Hoochie Coochie a reputation within the industry as being the of the most highly regarded events of its type, whilst the fun and light-hearted atmosphere made performing arts accessible for the general public.
